What a strange trip it's been.  I guess I should start by apologizing for not having a new report since June of last year.  Holy Smokes!

Hopefully most of you follow me on Instagram or Facebook and didn't get left out in the cold so to speak.

As a recap.  Last year was just straight epic.  Great snow melt, a mild summer and plenty of cool water for all the fish made the trolling on lake Almanor dynamite.  I'm very grateful.  I had one of my best seasons on record and that includes my years of fishing this lake recreationally.  As a guide, I looked forward to each day.  I did get blanked one day last season.  It was a bitter pill to swallow.  But, I guess having caught fish on all of my other trips, ultimately, I didn't die and I'll get over it.

As matter of fact, that's my excuse for not having written anything.  I was booked up pretty solid, the fishing was red hot for weeks on end, months even, and I just didn't have time, nor energy, nor desire to say anything about it.

Currently, as of today, I'm still fishing this winter.  The weather has been mild.  There is currently some snow in the forecast.  Only time will tell how much and how long it lasts.  For now, the lake is open and fish are being caught.
