We're currently enjoying a mild winter at Lake Almanor. Temps have been hovering near freezing before sunrise and warming to the 40ish range by mid afternoon. Wind has not been an issue on most days with calm waters and snow capped mountain scenery. Lake traffic is exceptionally light with few to no boats on the water.
The Olivia Lynn has been producing a mixed bag of rainbow and brown trout on days we've been chartered. The bite has been spotty with some days offering double digit take downs and others only 3 or 4. If you are going to be in the Lake Almanor area the fishing continues to produce clean, strong fighting fish that are releasing well while providing lasting smiles. We are currently running mid day charters starting after sunrise and ending before sunset. This year is offering spectacular weather and basically private lake tours without boat traffic.
