Water Temps are up to 41 on the surface.
Sunny skies are quickly melting any remaining pockets of snow. Water clarity continues to be poor, but the bite for the last week has been strong. Good quality browns are being caught as well a nice mix of rainbows with the right presentations. Many anglers of the fleet are pulling spoons like needle fish or speedy shiners in the East basin. For the adventurous, pulling Rapalas in the shallows have been producing at or near double digit numbers of fish lately. Of course, everyone is putting in their time to achieve these results with expected numbers generally less than this.
For the shore angler, Canyon Dam continues to be a favorite destination. The "Tubes" going through the causeway on the Northwest side are attracting locals. The rainbow trout will begin staging for spawn. Although the rivers remain closed the lake itself is open to fishing.
We have a another weather disturbance coming. This could slow things down for a few days with some expected winds. All in all, it's a good time to plan a trip to the lake!
